Join us at the Lodge Stage as we welcome the acclaimed Scottish author Kate Foster to discuss her brand-new novel, The Mourning Necklace.
Inspired by the astonishing true story of Maggie Dickson, who survived her own execution in 1724, Kate's latest book is a scandalous and feminist take on a fascinating piece of Scottish history. The Mourning Necklace is Kate's third novel, following the success of The Maiden, which won the Bloody Scotland Crime Debut of the Year 2023 and was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2024, and her exploration of early witch trials in The King’s Witches. Don't miss this opportunity to hear Kate discuss the real-life events that inspired her gripping new novel and her journey as a writer.
